Maine Art Scene Call To Artists

Maine Art Scene magazine is organizing its third annual multi-disciplinary virtual showcase of contemporary Maine painters, fine art printmakers, fine art photographers, sculptors, potters (new!), furniture makers (new!), mixed-media, and multimedia/short film (new!) artists. The deadline for submissions is December 15, 2011

This statewide interactive showcase will be available online at www.maineartscene.com and maine-art-exhibits.com in February 2012.

Artwork will be selected by Sam Mitchell, a passionate collector of Maine art as well as Maine Art Scene's founders, Brenda and Thierry Bonneville. Works chosen will be displayed in a virtual format that resembles an actual gallery space, with various rooms to navigate, and artwork and labels to zoom in on. Exciting new virtual spaces will be created for our 2012 showcase. The 2010 and 2011 virtual exhibits can be viewed online here.

Preferred method of entry is by mail with a CD containing JPEG images (or multimedia files) and text in a Word, PDF document or similar format. Cost of submission ranges from $25.00 per artist for up to three images/ multimedia files to $50.00 per artist for up to10 images / multimedia files. Maine Art Scene Launches Second Annual Online Showcase

Maine Art Scene has continued to bring technology to the arts world by launching its second annual online artist showcase. Close to 90 artists submitted a combined total of over 400 pieces of art. After very careful consideration by founders Brenda and Thierry Bonneville as well as Maine art collector Sam Mitchell, the selected pieces featured in the exhibit include 65 artists represented by 95 works of art. As with last year's showcase, the selected works will become part of Maine Art Scene's permanent art library.

Maine Art Scene, LLC. (maineartscene.com), is Maine's online arts and culture magazine devoted to promoting Maine artists and arts organizations in new and enterprising ways. In 2011, Maine Art Scene is going one step further. Starting in the spring, Maine artists and private collectors of Maine art will be able to create online stores and sell their work. Arts organizations including galleries, museums, and nonprofits will also be able to set up online gifts shops, box offices and donation pages.
