Accessibility in the Arts

The Maine Arts Commission is highlighting the importance of accessibility in the arts with an eleven minute video on YouTube. The video was produced to help arts venues and arts organizations understand the importance of making their programs and facilities accessible to persons with disabilities. It also provides the basics of compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and resources for further information. Local arts organizations will be able to use the video to inform themselves about the ADA and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973.

The Maine Arts Commission offers more resources through its Arts Accessibility program. These can be found on the pages of MaineArts.com.
