Mike Daisey Presents New Work at MICA Conference

The Maine International Conference on the Arts (MICA) is packed full of amazing presenters and keynote speakers; one of these keynotes just happens to be Mike Daisey, who has been hailed as “the master storyteller” by The New York Times. He is the preeminent monologist in the American theater today and will speak at MICA on Saturday. Mike will also be presenting his newest work on Friday night at the Collins Center for the Arts.

Mike has been compared to a modern-day Mark Twain for his provocative monologues that combine the political and the personal, weaving secret histories with hilarity and heart. As a playwright, his transcript of The Agony and the Ecstasy of Steve Jobs was downloaded over 100,000 times in the first week it was made available. Under a revolutionary open license it has seen more than forty productions around the world and been translated into six languages. The first Chinese production opened last year in Beijing, and will tour to Hong Kong and Shenzhen this year.

Conference goers will able to see Mike twice, as well as a whole host of other amazing speakers. This is just part of what is on offer at MICA for an exceptionally low price of $75, or $135 if you are attending MICA and the Arts Education: Leading the Way Conference. Register today to receive the early sign-up discounts on offer.
