Percent for Art Competition Woolwich Central School
The Maine Arts Commission is making a call to all artists living in Maine to submit proposals to design, create and install artwork at the Woolwich Central School in Woolwich, Maine. The total project budget is $50,000 and the submission deadline is 2:00 pm, Tuesday, May 10, 2011.
The Woolwich Central School is a K-8 facility that will open in the fall of 2012. The new school building is constructed with an emphasis on sustainability and environmental responsibility. Its design is forward thinking and will include many technological innovations. There are several locations well situated for large artwork of any medium, as well as spaces very well suited to smaller works.
Spaces set aside for the installation of artwork include the lobby, the stairwell, the front entrance and community garden spaces.
Full details, with plans, are available on MaineArts.com.
