Calling Maine Performers!

The Atlantic Presenters Association has opened the Contact East Conference to New England performers! Successful applicants from the past have benefited greatly from touring opportunities arising from their participation in this conference.

Contact East 2011 will take place in Summerside, Prince Edward Island on September 28 to October 2. This exciting celebration is an opportunity for performing arts presenters to meet, and for artists to showcase their music, dance, spoken word, theatre, and youth orientated programming to industry professionals.

The conference will bring together artists and presenters to facilitate the number and diversity of performing arts activities nationally and internationally. Programming includes provocative speakers, educational seminars, engaging round-table discussions, informal meetings, and performer showcases. All these elements combine to make Contact East an essential and inspiring experience for its 300+ attendees.

The application process for artists wishing to participate is divided into three steps.

• Steps 1 and 2: Due on March 9th, 11:00 pm EST. (submit application materials and fee)
• Step 3: Due by April 1st, 11:00 pm EST. (submit supporting materials).

Applications will be reviewed by a jury in mid-April and applicants will be notified about their status soon thereafter. Reduced rates are available for artists applying to both Contact East and Ontario Contact.
