Real Lives of Female Artists

Smith College Museum of Art is offering “Real Lives of Female Artists,” a symposium
on February 26 – 27, 2010.

The conference --that takes place in Northampton Massachusetts-- is sponsored by the Emily Hall Tremaine Symposium. It is FREE and features important artists such as Mierle Laderman Ukleles and Susan Hiller, as well as dealers, writers, critics, and curators, including the likes of Paula Cooper and Lucy Lippard.

The symposium brings together artists who discuss the challenges each faces creatively and on a day-to-day basis. The other arts professionals will offer insights into the promotion and business of contemporary art.
